Can you believe its that time again, I don’t know about you but this week seems to have flown by, but perhaps I should say floated by with the amount of rain we have had, but good news the hosepipe ban is off Hurrah!
It really has been a good few days, Baby is sleeping longer which in turn means Mummy has more sleep, and the routine we’ve got into seems to be working more or less, so great all round.
So I thought, how could I use all this extra time I seem to have as a new Mum (tongue in cheek) and I did want to be a bit more organised (ha! ha! did I hear you say, that makes a change) so I’ve started my ramblings, I mean literature works, early, making sure I include all the great blogs out there (in my opinion) that have gone above the call of duty with their great money saving words of wisdom this week.
So here I go, scene set baby asleep, feet up, having a cuppa and a rich tea, nice and cosy, now we shall begin, Enjoy.
Family Budgeting – The best Fathers Day gift ever
My absolute favourite of the week, obviously for selfish reasons as my hubby is a new Daddy, so that qualifies him for a pressy this weekend, so you know now just what he will be getting this Sunday. I just love this, so apt, so personal and special, whatever your budget this is just a must, and will melt the heart of any Daddy. In fact there is no reason why Grandads can’t get involved as well, great idea, I’m going to be busy tonight.
Penny Golightly – A new jumpstart month
This little snippet really wets the appetite of things to come, I am so looking forward to all those weekly tips which are going to help me and you save money. So make it a date to check out weekly in July, I don’t think you will be disappointed.
Lulastic – I am so post-Mod Podge
I just love the ½ full rather than ½ empty glass optimisim of this writer, it is a fun to read article which will help many. What she has come up with is a recipe with a difference, no I hear you cry its not another cheesecake or fruit flan, its actually a recipe for making crafters glue. Theres not a lot to the directions, and no cooking is involved, but it is so useful for the massive craftying followers and one that I am sure they will be trying out soon.
Frugal Babe – Buying and storing things for the future
This is such a topical subject seems to be everywhere at the moment, in magazines and even television programmes about this specific item. It is something that affects many of us, which is probably why so popular, I know by experience that when you decide to rid yourself of unnecessary clutter, you not only gain more room, but it is a great way of not only cleaning your house but also your mind, and making money at the same time.
Savvy Woman – 5 things you need to know about getting a loan from a Pawnbroker
A very serious subject is covered here, but one that we should be aware of. With day to day living many of us are finding it hard to make ends meet, so things like Pay day loans, and a visit to a Pawnbroker or short term loan company is becoming more of the norm. This article touchs on the reasons and the things to look out for such as you have 14 days to change your mind, and you can find them online and in the High Street. Have a read.
Thrifty Fun – Cinder block step planter
Sorry to get all serious then, lets lighten the mood with this great idea from Thrifty Fun, how ingenious is this to make a great looking, cheap but original planter. Whatever you want to put in it is up to you, maybe some gorgeous grasses or herbs and fruit. Maybe go for a few different ones, and stack them together. The hollow masonary blocks are lighter than the concrete variety, and can be found in your local DIY Superstore.
Well I hope you enjoyed this weeks roundup, gotta run I think someone is hungry, going by the distant cry.
Have a good week,
Jenny
